I had the same response to this wonderful article ( the pics are fantastic). It spoke to me as I was also raised by a single mom in a rather unconventional way. I really love this about him and I wonder if he downplays it because it is so unconventional that he is afraid most folks would not be able to relate? I think its the best thing about his compelling story.
